PYT Client Alert: COVID-19 Trends

Chris Tackett is a public education advocate and executive with Coca-Cola Bottling. He regularly posts statistics concerning public education and has been posting COVID-19 statistics as they come in. Yesterday, he shared COVID-19 Trends as of March 31, 2020, and graciously permitted PYT to share this information with you! Powell, Youngblood & Taylor Team Member Spotlight

David Torres, producer and host of the firm’s podcast called “The School Zone”, is this week’s featured team member. Known for his resonant voice and many charitable activities, David is also a leader in our firm’s good health and fitness programs.

David provides a flexible schedule to fill the needs of the Firm and its clients. David is a graduate of Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science and double-minor in speech communication and theater arts. He later earned his post-baccalaureate paralegal certification as a litigation specialist from the Center for Advanced Legal Studies in Houston in 1992. On occasion, David is known to bring his tasty ‘fideo’ dish to share with the entire staff and attorneys.

David began his career as a litigation paralegal in Houston and eventually moved to Austin in 1994 and has been here since. As an advanced hobby interest, David created, produced and hosted original television programming between 1998 – 2010 on local Austin public access television and later KNVA 54.

More recently, David has developed a strong interest in podcasts by producing a podcast for PYT, the aforementioned, “The School Zone” podcast. As well, David is an avid typewriter collector (with over 250 in his collection) and hosts the only-known podcast in the world, called “Austin Typewriter, Ink.” podcast. David is also a published children’s book author and is currently developing a series of children’s books. His wealth of experience ranges from his early years at the Office of the Texas Attorney General to the City of Austin Law Department and eventually the private sector for several law firms primarily as a litigation paralegal. At Powell, Youngblood & Taylor, LLP, David is an all-practice-area paralegal with a special focus on public finance.
